Our High Priest
is at the right hand of the Father. He prays for us. His Spirit is here with us
now. As we look to Him, we should feel a flood of peace. This peace is for
several reasons.
One, our past sins are forgiven us. Two, the Lord has promised
never to leave or forsake us. Three, He told us not to sin but He also says
that if we do sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ,
who remains our perpetual priest.
He was once offered for us and remains for us
forever.
As we come to God at His table, we should have this great sense of
peace of what the Lord has done for us and what the Lord will continue to do
for us. We come to this table and are regularly assured of God’s love for us in
Christ. Christ abides so we abide. Our only response is one of Thanksgiving.
