As we think today
about the State of The Church, Christ’s Church, we should be encouraged. God is
doing His work at His speed for His purposes. This is resulting in the glorious
expansion of His Kingdom. That is a given. But we need to make sure that we,
that each one of you, is part of that expansion. You need to be in Christ,
today, tomorrow and all the days to follow. Believe in Him. Trust in Him. Hope
in Him. Rest in Him.
We know God will be victorious but we
do not know what our own lives will be like tomorrow. We do not know what
troubles await us. We know we will have trouble. We will have sickness.
Eventually, we will die. Our country may return to Christ or keep drifting away
from Him. We do not know. But these uncertainties ought not to cause us fear if we
rest in Christ. In Him, we possess all things. In Him, we face the future
without fear. In Him, our rest and hope is absolutely certain. He is our rock.
In Him, there is no weapon, no fear, no sickness, no death that can separate us
from the love of God.
This meal is a testament of God’s
covenant with you in Jesus. Eat and drink in faith, resting in the hope that is
Jesus Christ. As you are in Him, He will never leave you or forsake you.
