I have made mention before
that our Father in Heaven is well pleased with us. These are words of assurance
to all of you but they can also be an admonition to you parents to learn to be
like God, well pleased with your own children. One of the reasons we have a
hard time believing God, the Father, is pleased with us is because we have not
learned how to be pleased with our own children. We then project our
displeasure towards our children onto God in being displeased with us. It is
not hard to do. Like our children, we have many faults and do not have to look
too deep to find them.
But we have it all backwards. We need to get our theology
right so we can learn how to live before God in our homes and in our church. The
Father is well pleased with Jesus. You are in Jesus, clothed with Christ,
filled with God’s Spirit, washed clean in the blood of Christ, justified in the
Resurrection of Jesus, declared righteous by a Holy God and nothing can
separate you from the love of Christ. Dear Saints, it is true, God, the Father,
is well pleased with you. Receive this pleasure and pass it on.
