Jesus, the Word

Holy Father, our Lord Jesus told the devil that man should not live on bread alone but on every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Furthermore, Jesus said that we should not tempt You but live in complete submission to Your will. He also said that we are to worship and serve You only. We thank You that You have given us Your Word, Jesus Christ, to live on. We eat this bread and drink this wine so that we know that our lives are dependent fully upon the grace You that You grant us in the Word made flesh, who dwelt among us. Glory be to You, our Father, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
