God's Comfort

This meal is one of comfort. We may feel out of sorts with God or with one another. In our service we recognize the fact of sins and what those sins do to our relationship with God and with one another. We may feel out of fellowship with God and at odds with one another. We may be at odds with our spouse, with our children, with our parents, with our siblings, with our friends or even with God, Himself.

But if you have humbled yourself before God and before those you have sinned against or who have sinned against you, then there is no need to continue to feel out of sorts. God forgives you and enables you to make restitution where it is due, to forgive if you have been sinned against, and stand before His presence in the name of Christ.

Then, He seats you with Jesus at His Table, with family and friends and speaks comfortable words of friendship to you. Rest now, here in God’s comfort.
