Don't Wait Till Sunday

I hope you don’t clean your houses once a week. Of course, I hope you do clean your house at least once a week. But if you only clean it once a week, then it is mostly a mess. You should not live in a mess.

You need to clean your house every day. Kids, you need to clean your rooms every day. Otherwise, the stuff just piles up everywhere until you don’t even know where to start. But if you pick up every day, then the out of place items look pretty obvious.

Sin in our lives is like that. Sin in your marriage is like that. Sin in your homes and among your friends at church is like that. If you let it pile up all the time, after a while it seems overwhelming to start picking it. Where do I start confessing? What do I repent of? There is just too much to even get started!

I hope you don’t confess sins once a week. Of course, I hope you confess sins at least once a week, but you need to confess more often than that. Confess Saturday’s sins on Saturday. Confess Wednesday’s sins on Wednesday. Then it will be pretty obvious what junk reveals itself on Tuesday and Thursday and Friday and confess those, too. Keep your heart picked up. Don’t wait till Sunday.
