In the wilderness, David fled from place
to place, seeking safety from Saul. He was not safe in the cave of Adullam, nor
in the city of Keilah, nor in the strongholds of Judah. All of these places
were unable to resist the mighty man of evil that was pursuing David. Nonetheless, Saul was unable to
touch David. David escaped from Saul repeatedly at just the place where Saul
thought he had him.
David is not safe because of the place.
David is safe because He is with God. No harm can come to him save that which
is ordained of God. The invisible hand of God’s saving power is stronger than
the weapons of the mighty warriors of Israel.
Are you in danger in the wilderness?
Yes, every day. There is no place that you are safe. Your adversary, the devil,
prowls about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. But there is no
place, in Christ, where you must fret and worry. David was as safe as God
wanted Him to be. God’s hand is our defense. Who shall separate us from Him?
No one and nothing.
This is our safety, now and forever,
life in Jesus.
