His Bones and Flesh

In the beginning God made a man. He then took a woman from the man. Thus, she was bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh. She was called woman because she was taken out of man. She was his bride and the two became one. What God had joined together, let no man separate. But, alas, there was separation, in sin and death and devil’s work.

Then God made another man, His Son, and He took a wife, and the two shall be one. And because He is a greater Adam, she will be bone of His bones and flesh of His flesh, and what God has joined together shall never be separate. Brothers and sisters, you are the church, the bride of Christ. You belong to Him and in Him, rest assured, you are bone of His bones and flesh of His flesh, now and ever, world without end. Amen.
