When
Jesus came to Jerusalem, He entered the Temple, overthrew the tables and drove
out the moneychangerrs and those who sold sacrificial doves.
This is quite violent behavior,
behavior that might frighten a little child or even Jesus’s own disciples. But
the children easily recognized who was right and who was wrong, who was friend
and who was foe. They sided with Jesus crying out, “Hosanna to the Son of
David!”
We are like those children. Out of such
babes and sucklings has our Lord ordained praise. We recognize the Lord Jesus
in His arrival to overthrow every lofty thought raised up against Him. We cry
out, Hosanna to the Son of David!
The
Father has made Jesus a little lower than the angels, and has crowned Him with
glory and honor. He has made Jesus to have dominion over the works of His hands
and has put all things under
His feet, all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field, the fowl of the
air, and the fish of the sea, and
whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas. How excellent is His
name in all the Earth.
Hosanna to the Son of David!
