Public, Sinner or Indignant?

Matthew 9:10-11 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

Who are you sitting here? One who does not need food or one who hungers and thirsts for righteousness? It is easy to condemn the self-righteous attitude of the scribes and Pharisees but we can get there, too. Self-righteous is not righteous. Self-righteous is unrighteous. For such who will not eat of Christ, let the dead bury the dead.

But the humble sinner, the repentant sinner, the forgiven sinner is welcome to eat with Jesus. And Jesus is glad to eat with such people. He rejoices to feed the hungry, the needy. Glad tidings here. If you have messed up, sinned, had a bad attitude, been guilty and ashamed then you are in the right place. Here is food for life. Receive Jesus. Eat and drink of Him and live.
