When Jesus
looked at the multitude they were faint and downcast. They were weary and like
a sheep that has rolled on its back, cast down, and cannot get up. Such a sheep
is out of balance and without the shepherd’s assistance will die in a short
time. The shepherd must come and put the sheep aright.
We can be out of sorts with sin,
troubles, worries, sickness, responsibilities, or even enemies. We sometimes
charge forward in the Spirit of the Lord. Amen. But at other times, we are cast
down and incapable of moving. But Jesus has compassion on us, as sheep that
need the Shepherd to put them right. Whatever ails you, the Chief Shepherd is
here. He has spoken, forgiven and healed. You are no longer cast down, but are risen
and upright.
