As we raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, a most important place, maybe the most important place, is the Table. It is at your dining room table and at this Table of the Lord.
Why? Because it is there where the
family gathers in peace and fellowship. And this Table is the place where God’s
people gather in peace and fellowship.
Is your home table training your
children? How so? With peace, harmony, joy, restoration, sustenance, vigor,
rest?
Excellent. That is what this place is
for, too. At this Table is home, food, family, joy, rest, reconciliation,
assurance, health. This discipline of taking and eating in the name and Spirit
of Jesus Christ, is a premiere foundation for every other form of learning.
Here, by faith, receive Christ’s body.
Here, by faith, receive Christ’s blood. Have intimate fellowship with Him and
because of Him, reconciled and restored fellowship with all those who belong to
Him. Rejoice in this Table training.
