Of
course, your meals at home mean something whether you intend them to or not. The
table is a place where the family is established and built up and it can also
be a place where the failure of family is starkly revealed. You have to be
intentional in your meals for them to be the good that you desire.
Same with this meal. It shows, declares
and presents something, or shall I say, Someone, whether I intend it to or not.
This year, let’s make our meals together
intentionally meaningful. Do this in your home, also, even as you learn to do
it here. You can use this meal to learn how to have other meaningful meals. Are
you being nourished in Jesus so as to nurture others and be nourished in the
presence of God’s people in your home?
Let’s start here. Here, there is a little bread
and a little wine and that is good. They provide a little sustenance. But the
true import of the meal is Christ Jesus, Himself, who is all of our sustenance. Are you nourished in Jesus Christ? Be
nourished in Jesus Christ.
