Jesus is David’s
Son. He is most aptly named Jesus Emmanuel Davidson. He is the One who is not
only Savior, not only God with us but also God on the throne, the ruler of Heaven and Earth.
As we gather at this Table, we are
aware that we are the most privileged of people. Jesus has saved us from our
sins. Emmanuel has promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age
and King Davidson will reign from the right hand of the Father until all His
enemies are subdued beneath His feet.
If Jesus saves, what can man do to us? If Emmanuel is with us, where
can we go where God is not with us? If King Davidson reigns, who will resist
His glorious majesty? Man can do nothing to us. God is always with us. Every
knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
