Hosea
14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them
freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
Dear Saints, these ought to be
comforting words to all of us. We have all made resolutions to do better, to
pray more, to read our Bibles more, to resist various temptations, the lust of
the eyes, the lust of the flesh or the pride of life, only to find ourselves
sliding right back where we were when we made the resolution.
Some of these backslidings have been
small, others large. Whether your slide was short or long, the Lord is there to
catch you. He stops the slide. He heals the slider. He turns away His anger and
He loves you freely. What grand grace from our gracious God!
