This idea of
being heirs is a grand one. Everyone looks forward to an inheritance. It is
particularly good when the faithful parent has appropriately ‘laid by’ in order
leave an inheritance to his children and his children’s children. This is a
good thing.
How much more is this true when our Father
is the Father of all creation? He has ‘laid by’ not just adequately, but, in
Christ, all things in Heaven and
Earth are His. This is the One from whom we shall inherit. And our part is life
eternal, bodily resurrection and loaded with benefits, because He promised that
it would be so.
All we have to do is believe His promise, laying hold of the
promise by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. To God be the glory. Amen.
