God has revealed
His exceeding great power in us who believe in Christ. What is this great
power?
Firstly, He grants us new life in Christ and sends us His
Spirit to live new lives in Christ. Secondly, He promises to one day grant us imperishable bodies that never
die.
This is part of what we celebrate in this meal. Jesus died to procure our
lives. He rose from the dead so that we would also be raised with Him. He has
sent His Spirit so that His grace and peace would be manifested in us now and
that we would believe that we will one day have eternal, imperishable bodies,
like Him, knowing that, in Him, sin and death will be utterly, completely and
eternally defeated. That is His exceeding great power in us who believe.
