As we start a New
Year, it is fitting to look back and remember. Some of those memories are
painful but we remember the steadfast love of the Lord and this gives us
courage to move ahead into the unknown of 2015. In fact, some of our most
painful memories are the greatest testaments of God’s faithfulness to us.
The circumstances of 2015 are unknown and
the Lord of the year may bring us great trials and deep suffering. He may bring
us great blessings and resounding rejoicing. The particular circumstances are
unknown to us but the God of the circumstances is intimately acquainted with
us.
As we get ready to look ahead, we
remember the love of the Father, He that
spared not His own Son, but
delivered Him up for us all. How shall He not with Him also freely give us all
things? We remember Jesus, looking
unto the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was
set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the
right hand of the throne of God. We remember the Holy Spirit of promise, in
Whom you were sealed, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the
redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.
These things are true. Remember them. Now look ahead in
faith. The Lord is with you. Amen.
