The Bible commends child-like faith, that is, faith like a child.
Children tend to believe what their parents says. If their parents speak the
truth, then their words are confirmed as true as the children grow older. If
their parents do not tell the truth, then the children grow skeptical and
distrusting as they grow up.
In the Bible, Jesus encourages adults to have faith like children. And
He is not recommending faith in the abstract or faith in faith. He is telling
the adults to believe in Him the way a little child would.
Jesus is the one who takes away the sin of the world. Your little ones
believe this because you told them to. Do you believe it? God is watching over
you for good. Your little ones believe this, do you? God is good, kind,
gracious, compassionate, all knowing, all powerful, the Savior of the World.
Your children believe this. Have you grown up to skepticism? Weak faith? No
faith?
Start exhibiting paedo-faith. Believe like a child, for of such is the
kingdom of God.
