What great sins do the
Scriptures convict God’s people of?
One, hating instruction. How about you? Can
you receive instruction? From your parents, from your teachers, from your
pastor?
Two, casting the Lord’s Word behind you. When you know what
God has said, do you do it? If you don’t know what He has said, why don’t you
know? Do you read His Word?
Three, do you join thieves? How about those covetous 99%
percent who conspire against the stuff of the 1%?
Four, do you join the adulterers
on the television, computer or phone screen, or in your own private fantasies?
Five, do you speak against your brother? Or your sister?
Disloyalty is a great biblical sin, disloyalty to God or disloyalty to His
people. Do you tell lies about them because you envy their blessing, honor,
financial success or their favored status? Such slander is evil.
These things ought not to be among God’s people. Let our
desires be to honor others, to lift them up, to highly esteem them, even more
than we seek our own honor, elevation or esteem. It is time to repent.
