Come Forth!

It is good and right for us to confess sins. The Lord Jesus died on the cross for our sins, all of them, past, present and future. But we must continue to live in time, meaning we must confess our sins when we commit them, then repent of them and turn to Jesus for forgiveness, restoration, healing and hope.

What glory we find in Him! While we were yet dead in our sins, at the right time, Jesus died for us. And we are no longer dead. Because Jesus lives, we live. We confess but we do not wallow in our sins. We cannot pay for them by feeling bad. We cannot double down our penance by remaining dour. Jesus has called to us in the tomb. It is time to take off the burial shroud, to put away sins and death and come forth to life.
